Carley McCord was a member of WDSU Sports team got killed in a plane crash, according to her family. Her husband confirmed to The Associated Press that she was flying in a private plane from Lafayette to the Peach Bowl in Atlanta with her friends to watch LSU play Oklahoma. She was the daughter-in-law of LSU offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger.

McCord got her first job as in-house reporter for the Cleveland Browns. Later on she was hired by CBS Radio Cleveland for a morning show on Hot AC formatted station. After three years with Guaranty Media she announced that she wanted to pursue her career in full time sports television.

She was a freelancer and was working for various networks including Cox Sports Television, ESPN3 and WDSU-TV. She was in-game host for New Orleans Pelicans and the New Orleans Saints.

According to local news agency, Five people along with McCord are confirmed dead in a plane crash en route to Atlanta for the contest, this crash happend into a parking lot of a post office in Lafayette, Louisiana. Yet they haven’t released the name of all five person but yes the Associated Press has confirmed the name of sports reporter Carley McCord died. She was the daughter-in-law of LSU co-offensive coordinator Steve Ensminger.
